We are Very Greatful

It might look as though this cornucopia is empty, but it is filled with deep gratitude and appreciation for all of our customers. You allow us to own our own business in a field that we love. We are greatful for our farms that do such a good job sending us the beautiful blooms that keep the customers coming back. We are so fortunate to have florist, event planners, designers and everyone else who appreciates quality floral product. Thank you

What your Floral Wholesaler should do for you...

A good floral wholesaler can tell you if a certain flower will be available.  They should be able to tell you an approximate cost of a flower at different times of the year.   They should know different kinds of greenery that is not the usual.  When you need a line flower or something with texture they should be able to give you a couple of examples to help stop your brain freeze.  They should be willing to give you the names of roses that match the dress swatch.  They should have a suggestion for your mechanical problems.  They should be your information source.  If you wholesaler doesn't do these things for you-- call us in Houston at Westside Flower Exchange!

Get that "silver" in your arrangements or bouquets!

At Westside we have been noticing a lot of florist requesting something silver for weddings.  Here is one suggestion: Eucalyptus pods!  They are wonderful for adding in the silvery color along with unique texture.  They can be grouped together to create a composite "flower" or placed individually into a bouquet.

BEAUTIFUL ORANGE ROSE Named Cinnamon

This big headed orange rose opens up so beautifully.  It has a strong stem.  I would say it is a muted orange.  It would go fantastic with Sahara or Orange Unique.

A Very Exciting Day!

Today, Westside Flower Exchange will be on the evening news!  OK it is not a Houston channel, but it is the NBC affiliate in College Station/Bryan.  We will be showing how Texas A & M University Horticultural Department buys flowers from us.  We use something like Skype to video chat showing the products that they are interested in.  It is so the 22 century!  Maybe this is how all companies will do business with out of town clients.

The CORAL CHARM PEONIES are in from Chile!

These are the most amazing flower in the world.  They start off this strong coral color and as they open and time goes on the color fades from this viberant coral to almost white.  To go from the tiny ball of coral to the beautiful huge tissue petals of pale, pale, pale peach!

We have been asked by Bill McKinley, chair of the Horticultural department at Texas A & M University, to be apart of his one of his classes.  We do a webinar and show the students what we have in the cooler.  It is so much fun to get to be a part of future florist education!

Great Look For Fall

We thought these cornacopias would be wonderful for a fall wedding.  Using them as pew markers, these would scream fall.  They would also be great at either end of a mantel with fall leaves, gords and indian corn decorating the ledge.  Two cornacopias in the center with fall blooms coming out and puddling all over the table using the new Table Deco Holders from Oasis.

We think these cornacopias would make great pew markers for a fall wedding!  Another great use would be to use them on a mantel with gords, leaves and mini pumpkins.  Another great use would be to place one at either end of a dinningroom table and create inbetween the two!  It would be great to use the other new product we have from Oasis: Mini Table Deco Holders.
